Well I went. It was good and I'm glad I went and I will keep going. Yep...I see now I have officially turned into a wacko again. But that's ok. In fact it's good in a way. Even though I always knew when I was regularly going to meetings before that the program helped me immensely.... In the back of my mind I think I still thought I was going because of other people's insanity and issues. Now it's firmly confirmed in my mind that the insanity is mine. I feel as though I have a new purpose for going to the meetings and it's solely for me. That feeling of obligation to go to meetings to please others is now gone...and that's a good thing. Maybe now I won't resent going.
Yay for you for finding the courage and strength to return to the meeting(s)!
And, how lovely that you are going for you - just for you - to learn and grow and prosper.
I love your approach that being a little bit wacko is a good thing. As I consider gratitude each day, it gives me a chuckle in my brain that I have become grateful for the disease. While I still hate it and how destructive it is, I would not be 'here' in Al-Anon without it.
So glad you went back and thanks so much for sharing about it!
Make it a great day!
