Today was a good day. My RAH and I went to a movie together. This may not seem like a big deal but considering I can count on one hand how many times we have gone to the movies together in 18 years it IS a big deal! I let him pick the movie with the agreement we would go again next week to a movie of my choice. We got candy and popcorn and had a great time. He even said he was feeling happy when we got to the theater as he usually gets the "doldrums" in the afternoon. This time it didn't feel like a forced date as it did in the past. We did this instead of attending the usual 4th of July picnics that are alcohol-fueled. He said he feels he could be around alcohol without wanting to drink but I said I would rather go to the movies or spend the day at home cooking out on the grill. So I just wanted to share how grateful I am for these good days. I hope to have many more but for now I am thankful for today.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing about your positively grand day! Miracles happen in small moments when we live one day at a time!
It is so nice when we have joyful moments and didn't plan for them or fret about them - they just happen. I am glad you both enjoyed doing something different from the normal and that you had a great day!
Keep doing what you are doing and it does get better!

Sounds like a lovely day. I agree, living in the "now" is one of the greatest gifts of this program.
Yay for you!
