When I Got to this Program I Was a Broken Mess of Emotions, I Assumed EVERYTHING and Knew Nothing... I Panicked at the Sight of On Coming Doom, I took Everything EVERYONE (Even those I Didn't Know) Personal.. And then Of Course Thru My Own Sick Piece of Panic to it and Made Everything 10 Harder then it had to be...
This Past Weekend was the Usual UP & DOWN Roller Coaster of Life for Me :) The Men in My Family where doing a Guys Weekend on the River and I Was Left to Fend for Myself (This Doesn't Happen to Often) and Just by Luck A Gal From My Early Al-Anon was Coming to Town that I Haven't Seen in about 2yrs cause she Moved Several 100 Miles away.. So My Home Group all Got together before Our Meeting and Had a Nice Meal together, and it was Great Just Fellowshipping with Everyone Like the Old days :) And the Meetings was Great as Well...
The Next Morning I Decided I Needed the Perspective of a 4yr Old, So I Picked up My Youngest Granddaughter, and Spent the Day Eating, Shopping, Hopping, Giggling, Being Girly (Grandma's a Bit Tom Boy, but She is ALL Princess :) and Having Ice Cream...
Then Came the DOWN... I Started getting IMs From the Wives of the Others On the Float telling me about Flooding in Our Area, and What was "I" Going to do to get them Off the River... and what was "I" Going to do to get ahold of them (On the River with No Signal to Even Use a Phone) & Welp... I Don't have a Helicopter Either... So.... :/ "I" Was a Bit Limited...
And Then Came Al-Anon :D Too Say I Was in Constant COOL Mode would be a Lie, but I Did what I Was Taught to Do... I Prayed on it, I Stayed on It, I Watched The River Levels, Checked Radar, and I Did What God told me to Do... NOTHING... My Gut Told Me They Where Fine... They All Grew Up on the River & Are Smart Enough to Know When to Get off and Take Shelter... I Was Up till 3am cause My DIL's Dog was Bringing Pups into the World,(7 Pups Healthy) which was a Great Distraction for her... Next Morning I Got a Call from a Land Line saying they Decided to Stop at Another Location due to the Storms, so I Went and Picked them Up...
Only to Find, the Other two that was to be with them, and Meet them ON the River, had Never been Seen :? My Step Son & Granddaughter (8) So Again, I Ask God for Help, I Got Quiet & Listened... Nothing in My Core Said they was In Trouble... My DIL was indeed Upset, but I Believe that My Coolness on it all Truly Helped her See, She Just Needed a Little Faith... And Sure Enough They was At the Original Planned Pick up Spot Right on the Time We Talked about... He Did Have a Busted Boat, However They where Fine, and BOTH Said they had a Great Time even tho they Couldn't find the Others.... :)
I'm So Grateful All Turned Out OK... But I'm Also Grateful that I DIDN'T Flip Out! I Didn't PANIC... (I Did CLEAN My House Like a Crazy as a Distraction) But I Gave it to God and Had Faith... And Thank Goodness...
This Program Isn't Just about the Alcoholic... AT ALL... For Me Its About Learning How to Know what My Gut Tell Me Is Right Or Wrong... And it has Many Times Saved My Life when Knowing something Was Wrong.. I'm Just Thankful this wasn't One of those Times and ALL Are Home Safe, with BS Stories of the Fish They Caught, and Memories Made, The Storm Did Bring the Water Up about a Bit but didn't Get NEAR What the News Predicted we Would... I'm Think the Weather Man/Women Need Al-Anon Too :D Don't They Know Predictions Only Lead to Expectation, and Expectations Lead to the DOWNS... :D lol
Seriously tho, I'm Very Grateful they are All Safe, But I'm Also Pretty Proud I didn't Panic, and Jump on the Crazy Train, when in Reality there was No Way I Could Do Anything... and I Knew that... and Worry Just would have made it Worse on All.. So I'm Feeling Pumped I Used the Tools, I Trusted HP... And He/She Took care of the Rest :)
Great share Jozie. Your ability to maintain your serenity while surrounded by many invitations to crazy town and adrenaline pumping telephone calls is a true example of how program tools work.
Love how you went inward, found HP, asked for help, and were assured that all was well. He trusted that message and maintained the priceless gift of serenity. Good work. Loved the picture, she certainly is adorable and quite good fisherman
