This, C2C reading for May 29th addresses the powerful emotion of "fear".
It points out that fear is usually focused on the future, because we worry about what might happen and try to anticipate any disastrous outcome so that we would be prepared to protect ourselves.
The reading goes on t to state that most of our fears never come to pass, and if they do foreknowledge won't make us better prepared to face them. It suggests that learning to be in the moment and in the day, will help to reduce our fear immensely .
An important point that mentioned is that most of our fears never come to pass, and if they do-- foreknowledge won't make us better prepared to face them.
If we practice our program daily then our growing faith, self-esteem and trust in HP, we enable us to become capable of doing for ourselves what anticipation could never achieve---- taking appropriate action in any situation.
The quote for today is from Louisa May Alcott "I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.".
I do love that quote and so appreciate how using alanon tools has lessened my fears. I do believe this is because I have the deep Faith that the 11 th step suggests- if HP brings me to it --He will see me through it.
I may not like the situation nor my choices but I will be given the courage, serenity and wisdom to survive and eventually thrive.
Thanks for the daily! I too love that quote and it certainly brings home that our life is a journey to be enjoyed not feared.
I didn't realize how much fear consumed me and my choices until I began working the program. When I was able to look at me, what made me tick and what made me act & react the way I do, it was often fear based and not reality based.
Your daily post is such a great reminder for me to stay grounded each day in the here and now and not to fret about what will/might be.
Make it a great day!!

Thank you so much for sharing; this page is so powerful... This passage highlights the reason that Alanon can become a powerful program in all areas of life.
Alanon introduces tools that we can successfully use to overcome the incredible fear, worry, and helplessness we carry as a result of trying to manage and control A behavior. After seeing the power of the program work in a situation in which we have to acknowledge we are powerless, applying the same principals in other areas of our lives meets with less and less internal resistance.
I am not sure if I would have learned and benefited from this, and other great concepts found in Alanon, without running up against A behavior. I do know, however, that I am incredibly grateful for the program and the wisdom and serenity I have discovered since making the choice to incorporate its principles in all of my affairs.
One day at a time...
