Before the 12 Steps, I worked hard like a hamster on a wheel striving to be perfect. Needless to say, in all my humanism, I failed.
The program has taught me that perfect is impossible and it is great to be imperfect! Progress towards being a better person is all I need to strive for.
In working to be a better person and to improve and love myself, I try to do things each day that are just for me/my program.
Here's my plan for today -
1. Read my dailies!
2. Stop by MIP for my dose of fellowship!
3. Attend morning MIP meeting.
4. Walk with my puppy love!
5. Weight Training Tonight.
What are you going to do for you today?
Make it a great day!

Well, I went to meet daughter after school so we could go and buy a gift for the birthday party she is going to on Saturday night. She was rude and stroppy and didn't want to shop with me and I had a wonderful moment of clarity; I happily told her to go on home without me and instead I took my sweet time shopping in town alone, wandering, trying on clothes just for fun, looking at whatever I felt like looking at for as long as I felt like looking, and instead of buying an expensive gift that her friend might not even like, I asked daughter a series of questions via email about what her friend liked (colours, sweets, etc) and spent ages putting together a really rather adorable little gift basket that somehow cost me a total of $12, HA!!! (It's really good too, daughter was flabbergasted when she saw the loot). Then I thought, there is a lady local to me who makes gift hampers and sells them online and does a roaring trade...I wonder. Anyway the point is, I turned a chore (shopping for a gift with grumpy daughter) into a really nice solo afternoon of shopping and taking my time. Saved heaps of money and bought myself a nice shirt on sale too. Goes great with my new boots

Don't it feel good to realize WE can be in spite of what's going on around us?
Thanks so much for sharing and make it a great day...
