Because sometimes, the people you can't live without can live without you. Author Unknown
This quote, written by an unknown author truly hits home with me. In my pre-recovery world and way of thinking, I often felt and said to myself, "What would these As do without me?"
I have learned that they actually can function, live and exist without me. The energy and effort I spent trying to manage and control their disease and their behaviors was so unnecessary, as they must find their own path. It's taken me a long while to realize that the way I live my life may be in direct conflict with how they choose to live theirs. And - it is OK and I will be OK as I am not the one with the Master Plan.
I plan to be my own hero today with the following plan.
1. Read my dailies.
2. F2F Meeting Today.
3. Small Group 12 Step Meeting Tonight.
4. Bubble Bath!!!
5. YOYO (You are on your own) Dinner Night.
What about you? How will you be your own hero today?
Make it a Great Day!

I told my daughter YOYO last night as I was madly studying. And I said it the way she says YOLO and I laughed and laughed. She didn't, especially when I explained what it meant, lol. There was plenty of healthy leftovers in the fridge; she coped. Thanks for a great new word

Thanks for the daily self care reminders! I have one of those days that starts at 4am and ends at 9pm, but I will get in an hour of exercise after dinner. And I'm grateful that not every day is as busy as my Wednesdays are!
Thanks so much for responding....I am always looking for great ideas to add to my self care list!
I take for granted at times simple things like gratitude lists, meditation, exercise (it's rainy today.....bummer)....
Love that you all responded and gave new ideas!!
I LOL @ missmeliss.....
My boys used to tell me that when I am angry I talk in rhymes. I started listening to my lectures and ... I do - not intentional it just randomly happens. So - YOYO came out of my mouth one night and the intended. They too were not too thrilled but have adapted well over time....
Make it a great day!

Yes, I like YOYO as well, and also can't wait to use it on my teenage son. Often he likes that though, at least as far as dinner, because he gets oto make something unhealthy that the wife would never serve to him!
YOYO is a great break for those of us who cook often...it's also a great way to get rid of freezer food and/or left-overs!
Make it a great day!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!
