First F2F meeting

I went to my first F2F meeting this evening and it was just what I needed. There were so many nice people and they were very kind to me. The person running the Newcomer's meeting before the regular meeting was very welcoming and it was a great experience overall. I want to go back.

Truthfully, I had been dreading it all day and had been coming up with excuses for myself on not going. I'm a bit socially anxious in general and I was afraid that talking to people before and after the meeting would be awkward (it wasn't) or that I wouldn't be able to relate to the people who were there (I definitely could).

Anyway, just wanted to share the good experience I had and I'm very glad I went.

Aloha Mikhail  and welcome to the MIP family.  Glad you had the courage to change the things you could by getting to the face to face meeting.  Fear of anything new can be very concerning.  I went thru some of that myself and then I found out the truth you have I back then feared what I didn't know anything about and it only lasted one meeting.   Keep coming back and hope to hear more from you as time goes on.   ((((hugs))))smile

Mikhail - Yay for you!!!! I too was very concerned about attending my first F2F meeting but was also very glad afterwards.

In my experience with attending 12 Step meetings, I truly can say I have always left feeling better and have never attended a bad one. Some have been better than others, but the fellowship and words spoken have always been healing and helpful.

Glad you are here at MIP - keep coming back and make it a great day!
