How do I love ME - Let me Count the WAYS!

It is Monday and I wanted to share what I am going to do for ME today to be gentle, kind and loving.  For this member, if I don't know and love me, I can't know and love another fully.

1.  Daily Readings.

2.  Sponsor Meeting.

3.  Walk with my Lovely Dog Layla.

4.  MIP Meeting Tonight.

5.  Monday night $1 Tacos (yummmmmmmy).

I would love to hear from others what you plan to do today or have done that is for you and/or your program!

Thanks and hugs to all - make it a great day!

Betty - sounds wonderful to me!

I am so very grateful that spring has finally arrived and we are seeing some sunshine longer than before. My mood is always elevated with the sunshine it seems.

Make it a great day and thanks for sharing!

$1 TACOS?? How can you NOT have a good Monday with THAT to look forward to?

I'm loving me by returning a piece of equipment back to Comcast internet service, and starting to save $10/month on my internet. I'd probably take those $10 and buy 10 1$ TACOS!

ROFL Kenny......I love the dollar tacos and of course, in all my 'thrify-ness' (mascarading my cheap tendencies), they come with unlimited chips & salsa............yummmmmmmmy.....

Love the savings on the internet/Comcast - it seems as if cable/internet/service has become out of control $$ wise!

Thanks for sharing and make it a great day!!!

PS - if you're ever in KS on a Monday, find me - I'll take ya for $1 Tacos!

PSS - I know a place that does $1 Tacos on Tuesday too!

I finally decided that I was going to live the principles of this program, and I set a boundary with the addict in my life, who is my brother. I told him that I needed to maintain distance from him as long as he was actively drinking/using drugs.

This is the first time I have ever put MYSELF before HIM. We are very close but his addiction, when active, turns him into someone I don't like and can't trust. You can't choose your family, you always love them but you DO have a choice as to how close you wish to get to "the flame."

I told my brother I would always love him and be there for him when he needed me, but that I couldn't be close to him in his present state because it wasn't safe for me.

He is very angry, taking it very badly and as of right now is not speaking to me.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference....

...and always remind me that I didn't cause it, I can't control it and I can't cure it.

Love to all!

Nix

Monday...I will stay in surrender to the process of allowing others to do their absolutely stunning loving best at helping me to keep my life going.

I will surrender to the red and black striped skivvies and tight shorts my wife bought for me while I was inpatient and

I will eat with gratitude hospital food that tastes soooo good we think we are in a fine restaurant.

I will not resort to fear and impatience because not all the eyes are dotted or tees crossed.  We are not alone and HP is conducting the orchestra.

I will insist on completing a 10th step to the doctor for a self centered shot of sarcasm because he was being smarter than I...SURPRISE!!!

I will continue to express gratitude and affirmations to all of the marvelous staff who were there 24/7 and who gave their expertise and awesome enabling skills.

I will remember to remind my God of all those less fortunate than I in prayer.

I will remember and remind myself that the woman who is my wife who does tough love better than anyone I know and who sometimes seems more fearful and concerned than my ego wants to allow is as concerned and fearful of the situation as I am and is allowed to be.  I will not make her life or love more tedious.

I will love my self as I love others...with acceptance and without reservation.

(((((MIP))))) smile

Dear Jerry F what a wonderful gift to find  your posting here today.

Your gratitude to your family, your wife in particular, and all the medical personnel in the hospital for caring for you is inspiring.

I really was impressed with the red and white skivvies and tight shorts that your wife purchased and wondered if you have a picture that you can post12.
Please keep taking care of yourself and allow the doctors to know more than you do for this short period of time.
Thank you for sharing the journey.

Jerry - thoughts and prayers for you and yours!

Thanks for the extensive list of all that is working in your program!

Take care of you and as Betty has requested - that photo would be ... 'one for the books!'

Be well soon and make it a great night!
