Special days MY way!

I remember the tension - having to smile and pretend I was enjoying whatever was being thrown at me because I didn't want to ruin the special day. "It's Mother's Day, I did "this" for you, why aren't you happy? Its a "special day" I can act any outrageously way I want and you can't complain because then you'll be the one ruining the special day!"

Oh how I love being alone when special days arrive - this morning I got up early and moved my bees another foot or so (slow process moving them because I missed the optimum time due to mangling my hand), I mowed too early - sorry squatters next door living in the motor home where they aren't supposed to be anyway but gotta make hay when the sun shines; I cut a bunch of branches and groomed where the bees will end up - go me, its ready for them now, they are about ten feet away now; I watered, moved the sprinkler and watered some more; watched the rest of a movie, drank coffee, moved the sprinkler, mowed some more, used the weed-eater to knock back the tall grass where the mower couldn't go; watered some more - its a watering kind of day eh? I'm STILL watering; barbeque is hot and burning off the remnants of LAST barbeque while I watch Sixth Sense on Netflix after pounding out a few tunes on the piano (re-teaching my hand to adapt to its mangled status). I'm alone, no special someone in my life and I could not be happier being able to spend this day in a way that pleases ME.

Soon I will eat too much, barbequed steak and half a baked potato with cream cheese sour cream topping, mmmm.

I used to dread "special" days - now I love them because they are what I want them to be.

Sounds like you're having a real nice day :)  Thank goodness for Alanon. This program frees us.  When I keep it simple, any day is "special."  Enjoy! ((hugs))) TT

Yay Sounds like a perfect day (except for the steak. I'll just have a big mushroom lol).
