C2C 5-9

The C2C reading for May 9 focuses on the fact that by living with the disease of alcoholism we suffer the loss of self-worth and self-esteem. It points out that were not comfortable with compliments or kind words. In order to be able to recover it was suggested that we make asset and gratitude lists each day. It also points out that learning to love ourselves is important as is being be able to accept kindness and love from others.

The quote is from."As we Understood:". I've heard people in Al-Anon say they got back their self-worth. I never had any in my life, so it was a whole new feeling to like the person called me".

I am ever so grateful to this program for giving me the tools that have enabled me to live life with dignity and courage, humility and wisdom. I am also amazed to see the feelings of self-worth go hand-in-hand with humility and I am so grateful for the gifts of this program,

Betty, I too am so grateful for learning how to, with the help of the Al-Anon tools, MIP and HP, find my dignity, courage, humility and wisdom again.
