C2C 5-7

This. C2C reading for 5-7 speaks about alcoholism being a disease. It points out that once we truly accept that alcoholism this important fact, we are set free from trying to control it or be angry with the alcoholic. We  can then turn our attention to our own recovery. This recovery is crucial to our own well-being, because we too have been affected by the disease of alcoholism.

The reading points out that" Recovery "in one member of the family can have a profound effect on the rest of the family. I can vouch for that--. I know that when I treat my family members with courtesy and respect-- do not engage in their insanity, the interactions that we share are positive and rewarding.

The reading is from the Guide for the Family of the Alcoholic; "Whether or not the alcoholic  chooses sobriety. The time for the family members to begin working out their own emotional recovery is now."
