ODAT 5-2

The ODAT reading for May 2 speaks about the power and importance of prayer.. It points out that prayer is simply a reaching out to make contact with a power greater than ourselves. It acknowledges our personal helplessness which has been demonstrated in their efforts to find peace and security.

The reading goes on to point out that prayer is the contact that we make with our thoughts and is a powerful medicine for the spirit. Praying for guidance is the most important as long as we keep ourselves receptive to the response and willing to act on the inspiration.

The quote is from Thomas Merton, No Man is an Island, "all true prayer somehow confesses error absolute dependence on God. It is therefore a deep and vital contact with him--- it is  when we pray that we really are."

Prayer is one of the most important tool in my tool box  Today instead of worrying about problems or dwelling on the  past  I talk to HP and ask for help or thank Him for the beauty around me
