What works for you

i thought I would ask you all what helps you get through that bad moment or to change your attitude. I need an alnon meeting. My AA uprooted me to a new state with no friends and I feel so isolated which doesn't feel good. Especially when all I have is the AA for company. i am so angry because he is drinking again. I want to take my anger out on him but I know that is useless and I might as well talk to the wall. I hate this wad of emotions balled up inside of me. I am disappointed but it just shows that this drug is hard to quit. I am no match against it. I took a walk this afternoon which helped me to release these pent up emotions. I want to be happy and not sad or angrY.

I Know that I need to first give it to God and seek his help and wisdom. the only one I trust!

happy

h for for hope in searching for the person I am

a is appreciating each and every moment

p for the people and peace  Gods brings in my life

p is to find the passion in my life

y yea is the cheering crowd of alnon supporting you with their love strength and hope

Run to the nearest alanon meeting to get
The support you need. Seriously go to as
Many mtgs as you can. I can only get to
One a week i could use one a day right
About Now. Keep reaching out like you
Did by phone to your recovery mates.

Try to surround yourself with good
Healthy people. Get involved with a
Church group, library groups anything
With positives overtones.

I detach with my feet... I go hiking or run errands or take my kiddo somewhere. I also joined some social clubs focused on fitness. And I can almost always find an open AA meeting--there are many more of those than al anon in my area. Unfortunately, the way things have been going in my A family, I'm not home much anymore.

Well for me I like to honor my feeling, let myself feel the anger but also not get stuck there... I dig deep into my recovery books, hit a few meetings, use the phone list, also like the suggestion of going for walks etc... I find for me that usually I hear something in a meeting that I need to hear to help me through, even if I dont realize it at the moment. Remember we didnt cause it, cant cure it, cant control it... but we can change us, set healthy boundaries, get into healthy activities for us.... "let it begin with you"!!
