I made the geographic change to leave when i was 20 weeks pregnant from AHBF. I quit my job, sold my car, and went to my parents, they were abusive and my mom hurt the baby, then i drove 1000 miles in 3 days when the baby was 4 months old to go to my aunt's house. my aunt didn't tell me that she was with an abusive man and her BF kicked me out after a few days, he told me to leave. So that's 3 strikes you're out with my baby's father, my parents, and my aunt. My brother hasn't talked to me in 2 years, he stopped talking to me the day i told him i was pregnant.
i have a car, so me and the baby slept in the car, and i was scared, then my cousins gave me $ from their drugged out dad's girlfriend, and i spent that money on a hotel, now i finally have my own place to live in a town i've never been to before. just me and my baby. i'm renting a tiny little room and all the neighbors in the other apartments are tweakers and drinkers and druggers, and i'm telling you, this is the nicest place i've lived in 20+ years, where i had my own place.
now i want her AH dad to come over here and meet her. because he hasn't met her. i need alanon and recovery. i need support for me and my baby who is 7 months old now. it would cost him $1000 to come here.. i would probably have to pay for it and pick him up and give him a place to stay and food...
i just need alanon right now. and i can't go to a meeting easily with a little baby. i was just trying to keep my baby safe. thanks for letting me share today.
Aloha Sister...glad to hear you and the baby have a safe harbor for now. The hotline for Al-Anon should be in the white pages of the local telephone book...in afg.org or twice daily on this site...check the face page. You might also want to check out women shelters Allison...call them and see if they have help or guidance. ((((holding you)))) and the baby in prayerful thought. (((((hugs)))))
PS I suggest not bringing the alcoholic/addict into the scenery if he isn't in recovery. It is not what he is wanting and the baby's not going to save him.
It sounds like you have made a pretty epic journey to a safe place. Never mind the neighbourhood, in your little home space right now, you have made a safe space for you and your baby. That's not easy to do.
You should be proud.
I also get what it is like to go through so much and then just want something that seems familiar or loving around.
I've just recently gone out on my own too and I can't tell you how many times I have felt lonely and scared and wanted my A back in my life.
But what would be the point of leaving if you are going to take it all with you?
I think it's awesome that you know you need al-anon. There are online meetings here. People who will support you. I'll help any way I can!

Why would you want to pay for him to come
And see the baby. He is a big boy, save the
Money for yourself and baby. If you left there
Are reasons try writing them down and keep
Rereading them so you remember the whys?
Mothers aid or wic would be a good starting point
Also womens abuse housing. There are dv abuse
Support groups also. Try to get to face To face
meetings in your area. You could try bringing the
baby and step out if baby gets Disruptive some
mtgs might even offer day care service.
Churches are great place for support and healing.
Hugs to you and your precious baby.
