Talked to my ex A today and I been talking to him daily I should say , since we been divorced we get along better and have more respect for each other's recovery , again I wish I didn't divorce him I just wish he would of given me my space to work on me and get healthy but I guess sometimes a divorce is needed . Well I love him still like before . I asked what he was doing tonight and he said he had a commitment to do : that makes me so proud of him that he is still sober almost a year and he still trucking on keeping that healthy habit . Staying sober I'm sure it's a hard think to do I give him credit for all he is doing for him self I'm very proud of my ex . I tell him every day how much I support him and how proud I am of him . I wish to god we were still married and I wish I was this supported of him when we were together but I know I was still to sick to acknowledge his good behavior . I just want all to know alcoholism is a damaging disease it takes the most important things in life away from you and kills it total destruction. I just wanna say to the woman and husbands out there that if you give it time and try to work on recovery it's well worth the time the wait and the hurt and it does get better when your getting healthy . I'm just feeling blessed today knowing I'm happy and in a good place and there is hope for all of us struggling . I'm grateful my ex is still sober healthy happy and we are best friends .
