That Moment when you Know your Heading tords the Pity Pot, Yet Still Keep Moving Forward...
I Truly have No Reason, I Had an Amazing Weekend with Tons of Wonderful God Filled Moments, Road My Harley with a Group of Peeps I Never Met, Shared Laughs with Strangers, Seen Gods work in Action along a Beautiful River Side, Road thru Old Country Roads, and Seen So Much Beauty Surrounding Me for two days...
I Took a Spill off the Truck Bumper Yesterday in the Grass thank Goodness... I Didn't break Nothing So I'm Quite Happy, but I Feel like I have been Beaten with a Hickory Stick from Head to Toe... I Don't know if its the 170 miles on the Bike in a Day, (First trip of the Year) or the spill off the Truck or the Combination of Both but Yikes... Sleep was Not My Friend, and Knowing My Addictions I think I Would Much rather at times Cry in Pain & Shame then take a Tylenol/Motrin Over the Counter...
My Husband thinks I'm Nuts Most times, because I Wait so Long. I Pay Dearly for it... But I know Me... and Every time I Put one in My Mouth, I Feel Guilt, Fear, and Resentments... I Was Raised to Believe You PUSH THRU... We All Have Growing Pains But ya PUSH THRU... Sometimes My Pushing Seems More Like Pulling... If Ya know what I Mean...
But these are things I Struggle with In My Recovery, and Since I am A Recovery Alcoholic, I Fear at times, even Something as Simple as Over the Counter Pain Meds Haunts Me to No End Just to Take it! I Don't want to Be Dependent on ANYTHING But Me & HP... Nor do I Care to Be In Pain... BUT...
Trying Really Hard today to "Easy Does It!" but Wishing I Was Home on the Couch with a Heating Pad, Some Soup, and Blankie...
Thanks for sharing. Jozie. I'm so sorry to read of your accident and the pain that you are feeling. I do identify with, not wanting to take pain meds of any sort, even over the counters --so you're not alone.
Sending positive thoughts and energy your way. Warm compresses and topical medications help me when I'm feeling as you describe. Please keep us informed
My sister from another mother...I love you so much. I'm happy you're still out there living it and riding it. Time to get rid of the guilt and fear my sister...the pain is optional sides you don't know if the otc's will work. I've already been thru those lessons for both of us...4 months of head pain with little to no relief until surgery (head) and then the otc's now work when I choose use them. No I wouldn't go beyond the dabble with the oxycondon and mainly because it did make me wicked worse. Push thru to the excederin and or the excederin with a PM night tag (worked for me).
Mom wants you home to clean your room...specially the oil spots on the carpet. (((((hugs)))))
Yes, sometimes we'd rather piss and moan to others about the terrible pain we're in. Self-pity and attention I guess.... Your post brought back memories of this past weekend. I installed a hardwood floor on Friday. Saturday I felt like I got hit by a bus. Ached from head to toe. Told everyone who would listen! Last night, had this revelation that maybe a couple Ibuprophin and some ice might be in order. Why didn't I think of that earlier...... We are all so much alike.... Nice to meet you on here. I'm a fellow HD rider myself.
Today Feels A lot Better then Yesterday for Sure... So I'm a Happy Girl, Once I Got Off Work and Out of My Chair, I Started to Feel Better... I'm Not one that Sits still Easily to begin with so Moving Around has Always Been My Healer :)
