Remnding me of JerryF

This book I borrowed, I just finished it tearfully, and in the afterward there are two things I want to pass on - the first, because it seems to be a different take on Jerry's "put me where you want me": "Where I am calling you, will you follow me, and do you love me enough to trust me with you?"

The second: "Forgiveness offered--especially when so undeserved--cuts chains off the human heart that no other power in any universe anywhere can rattle much less break"

The book is "A Life Intercepted" by Charles Martin and it was a good read.

((((Like my heart)))) thanks for passing it on...I will get it this week.   Also reading now "Came to believe..."The AA early documentary from early program which deeply reveals the spiritual relationship which comes about between the Alcoholic and that power greater than themselves which comes about during surrender.  It is not a book for the skeptical doubter I use to be ...I've seen more than my share of miracles and have "Come to believe..." myself.

It seems (just) to me that the difference twix my waking conversation with HP and "Where I am calling you...will you follow me and do you love me enough to truest me with you" would be if HP would have some doubt from my direction...."Nah"!!  I get up and I'm ready..."Place me where you want me...tell me what to do"   just for me.

I was speaking with a newbie to my home group this morning who discussed resentments with his spouse and so we went one on one after the group.  One thing I learned in Al-Anon with and from the sponsor I had early on was that there never was an undeserved forgiveness especially when it was most often me looking for it.  My sponsor Don taught me in order to get it ...you have to give it without condition or resistance.   I'm still learning how to do that daily.

I'll go look up Martin's book.    Mahalo   ((((hugs)))) smile

Dear LMH, thank you so much for this powerful share as well asthe book recommendation.

The meditation regarding:" forgiveness", is indeed so very true. I have found that when I am able to let go of the anger,  resentment over an incident, finally see my part in it, and accept, the incident as part of life, a huge part of my inner being feels unchained and joyful.

Forgiveness is a two-way street and blesses the person I forgive as well as myself

Just an FYI - The book isn't recovery related, it's a football player been wronged type of thing, but it was a good read, interesting to read football in a way that made me understand the draw of the game for the players.
