I am stressed to the hilt with two exams this week and more loss of a beautiful al-anon old timer. Also an RN friend of mine has had Crohn's for awhile and just had emergency surgery and lost some intestine and now has a colostomy, just makes me realize you just never know, so dig into this moment! I am having a hard time focusing and sleeping which leaves me tired and falling asleep when I need to be studying. I am not focused and feeling burned out, but very serene at the same time. I had lost an ovary in 2007 due to a precancerous tumor on my right ovary and am wondering if I am starting to go through menopause which could be the source, I get sweaty a lot now. At work this weekend it was a very stressful scenario and I was put on a different wing and had very little team support, but I got through it, just stress coming from everywhere. Al-anon has truly kept my head in the game during all this and I know I lead a high stress life especially with my 6 year old going to counseling and I'm trying to figure out how to calm her down, because she can truly amp me up, but I am truly taking things as they come and not freaking out. I am seeing my own counselor just for ideas on how to manage the stress in a healthy way and to vent and get feed back which helps. I have a wonderful boyfriend also and my 17 year old is so helpful and healthy I am amazed just to watch her progress in this life. I can't explain what I am feeling but is the calmest stressed out phase I have ever been in and I know I will be more than okay, but feeling a bit overwhelmed and trying to take small bites of all this as I can deal with it and let go of the rest. I come here and read more than I post anymore due to just not having the time or energy currently. I am grateful for you all working your programs here at MIP, you help keep me going. Thanks for being here!

For me Breaking as I go thru much the same thing as you describe minus a couple of thingies of course which have to do with being female, I see it as practicing "letting Go and Letting God"!! I don't know how else a person could go thru months of headaches without relief and then lack of sleep at the same time when it is soooo necessary. I know now what insanity is real time. Add to this dry nausea even thru periods of fasting (medication?) and loss of balance etc. My faith is strong that in spite of it all I am okay and will get better. This all exists within depression and I consider it spiritual hanging on. Different than before getting into the program. Keep practicing because truly "It works when you work it"....((((hugs))))
Hugs, I love the example you set for all of us. Please feel free to pass on some of your 'calmest stressed out' hints and tips to us, LOL. Like Jerry said, "It works when you work it!"

My best tip for you Andromeda is trusting my HP and when I hand things over truly knowing He has got me right where I am meant to be and I am listening to learn everything I can to be where I need to be. I am so proud of you venturing out! Life is still hard, but so much better! Let go and Let God has saved me so much stress trying to control things not meant for me to control. I now put that energy back into me and mine. The serenity prayer keeps me remembering what is mine and what is not and I love what Jerry F always says to his HP and I stole it, put me where you want me, I am listening. Sending you love and support!
