DETACH - Don't Even Think About Changing Him/Her.

They have good ones in AA too. My favorite was:

RELATIONSHIP - Real Exciting Love Affair Turns into Outrageous Nightmare. Sobriety Hangs In Peril. That one is to warn newbies in AA not to get in relationships early on if they aren't already in them. I don't know who comes up with this stuff lol.

Denial is truly an amazing defense mechanism. My A denies having a drinking problem when she has slurred her words and has trouble walking straight! And I was in denial for years about what was happening to me as a result. And it's a lot of work breaking it down. Wow-when it hits it's like crazy glue! Cute. Thanks, Lyne
