I haven't seen this raised before, and frankly, I haven't been able to find much on the web about this. One of my qualifiers is a healthy 25 yr old male whose drinking has escalated from an occasional binge to 5x to 7x weekly binge. I've found evidence (in my laundry room) that he is wetting the bed about 2x per week. One time I also found evidence that he had pooped the bed. I'm shocked and horrified that this might be a sign that his alcoholism is even more advanced than I had guessed. Does anyone have e/s/h in this subject? I'm so so sad to see someone I love going through this.
I haven't seen this myself, but my wife does talk about times in the dorms when she drank so much, she would wet the bed because she was passed out and didn't wake up when she needed to go. (One time, she woke up with a wet mattress on the upper bunk and her self curled up, cuddling a hair drier, on the dresser.) It seems to also be a pretty common theme among my friends who are involved with fraternities. It seems that everyone knows someone who got super drunk that one time and passed out, but didn't wake up when the bladder couldn't hold it anymore.
I don't mean to trivialize this at all. Certainly, it is very concerning if he is wetting the bed this often. It could mean that he consumes more alcohol during some of his binges than others. I admit that I often fear that my wife will wet the bed now, especially when she has been drinking with "friends". So far, that has not been the case, but I am thinking that I should set up a bed in a spare room for myself, just in case. I think it would be helpful in more ways than one, because I certainly don't want to share a bed with her when she is drunk enough for me to worry about bed wetting. (Or, actually, when she has been drinking at all.)

My sister told me of finding her husband standing beside the bed peeing on the floor. He "could not find the bathroom." She was just so disgusted and angry. This happened about six months before he passed away from health conditions caused by his alcoholism. Don't know if this helps but could it be that your qualifiers simply is too drunk to get to the bathroom?
I have heard of them just peeing in the corner
Of the room. No real sanity or real caring left
in them. Pretty far advanced alcoholism to be
like That.
If he is wetting bed probably passed out drunk,
and can't wake up to pee. Still very scary that
He has no control. The bladder urge is pretty
Strong.
ugh - I'm sorry to hear this is happening. My college boyfriend was a very heavy drinker. Drunk almost every night. The year we were both 21, he wet the bed when drunk 3 maybe 4 times when I was with him. I have to guess it happened many other times when I was not with him. It was very unpleasant, and of course I know now that I should have run not walked away after the first time. Anyhow, he was just dead drunk.
He is now about 50, and still alive, though I have no idea what his life or health are like.
Thanks, everyone, for sharing. I'm not sure what to think about whether this is a sign that my qualifier is much sicker than I thought. I suspect that it is.i know if I woke up in my own pee I would be greatly alarmed and would be doing whatever was necessary to make sure it didn't happen again, but I guess the A's are so deep in denial that it doesn't even cross their minds. What a sad, horrible disease. I've noticed too that in the last 4 months, since this started happening, that his once active dating life has dwindled to nothing. Now I think I know why. Sigh.
My exAH would wake up and pee in the corner of the bedroom regularly from the day I met him at 20 years old until I left any night he drank himself into a stupor and in my face to face I have heard of bed wetting. Sending you much love and support!

I also have had many experiences like this with my ah! Sometimes he would wet the bed or pee in the corner of the room! Yes he has even pooped the bed a few times. I was always worried when it happens. I never really looked into because I figured it was because he was so drunk and incoherent that he couldn't even wake up to use the restroom!
