Just thought I'd bring everyone up to date. Hubby came home yesterday afternoon and so far so good. He is still very weak and on about a gazillion meds. No kidding!! I went and picked up 14 prscriptions last night and another today. We had to go get a couple of those week long pill boxes to keep them all straight. So far he is in as good of spirits as he can be. The pneunonia has really worn him out and will take quite somet time to recover. His back is bothering him more then anything. It's just been one thing after another for him. First the bronchitis, then detox, then pneumonia, then his back. I guess HP wants to keep him on a leash for a while and unable to venture out. Works for me :)
We slept in the same bed together last night for the first time since June. I had been sleeping across the hall because of the alcohol stench in our room. He said I finally get you in bed and I can't move or breathe. I said "I know, that's why I'm here" hehe.
Tomorrow we are having a family get together for our son's 16th birthday. It won't be much of a to-do , just his sisters and their kids. I had to go out today and hubby asked me to pick up 2 cards for my girls (his step daughters) to say Thank You for all they had done for us last week. I found some really nice ones that say it from the heart. I thought that was very thoughtful of him.
So, we're doing good (right now) :)

so glad to hear all is smooth on the home front, for now as you say heehee. What a great way to offer encouragement with your move back to the bedroom, i'm sure that just makes him feel great. His thoughs of wanting to get the girls cards was very sweet, make's me think of what many members say in the room, about how alcoholics aren't capable of offering love most the time when they are active. I'm sure he never did stop loving them or you while active, but now that he's sober, he's able to show it a bit more and that's just awesome! Give him an extra squeaze for me, and 2 for you from me too!!!! Will continue to pray for you all. lots of love, trina
Glad to hear that things are going smoothly, albeit not well with your A being ill and all....good for you also at looking to your HP as this being a blessing....take care of you and be good to yourself FIRST.
Thank you for this inspirational share. I am so sorry to hear of your husband's brush with death. I hope he will take it easy for a long time. I have had bronchitis and pneummonia and know it can totally knock you out. I do know that having had such bad health I am very very grateful when I have it because I know it is temporary. I appreciate breathing and I never thought I would do that. There were times in my life I simpy wanted to die and I resented living at all.
I hope your birthday celebration goes well tomorrow. It sounds like there is a lot on for you so it was good you took those personal days for yourself to gear up to this busy time.
Glad you have your beautiful man back home and things are going good... may they continue to do so!! Happy Birthday to TJ!! And hey, you didn't say... how's your back doing? Don't ya go overdoing now taking care of everyone else or I'll have to come kick your butt!!! LOL
Luv ya, Kis

Loved hearing how the sense of humor is still there for both of ya and I thought the card was such a thoughtful gesture. Amazing how even somethings can change from just a short time of no alcohol.
Keep doing what your doing, you all sound so positive. And thanks for updating us !
