Ive been focusing on my recovery for a few months now. Its time to get some fun back into my life! Not that recovery cant be fun. But what else do you do in your life that isnt related to recovery? How do you step away?
Could be that its winter and I have a hard time dealing with not getting outside!
riding my bike in the woods. Tough this time of year, I bundle up.
I bought cross country skis in December and when there is snow on the trails I ski them. This is where I prefer to pray, so I do recovery work while I let go of my stress. In the woods with nature.
I schedule this time into my weekend, because I have learned through alanon to make time for me :)

If you want things you never had you need to do things you have never done
I read a lot, I volunteer on another website that couldn't be farther from any of my real world troubles - this has the added advantage of seriously boosting my self esteem, as my skills and interests that are disregarded in 'real' life are very valued there. I walk a lot - I've got a dog who loves to walk so we try for a couple of miles most days.
Spend a lot of time doing things with and talking to my kids. My son and I have recently joined the gym, so we are working out together, which I am enjoying a lot.
