Well it's now officially been a month my A has been clean, after having returned from a very intensive rehab program that not only included antibuse, extreme aversion therapy, electroshock and more! He has been slow in getting off the couch though, attributing the lack of energy to his meds, weight loss, liver damage and haital hernia that were diagnosed as part of the medical treatment process. Still, to a large degree, the "black cloud" has lifted from over him. His business which had gone dormant has now started to grow back. He has, step by step made positive changes and continues to be committed to his retirement from drinking. A buddy he made in the hospital is back in the program after relapsing - this only seemed to galvanize his will to stay sober. He said originally he would beat this after getting the help he needed to clean up. I believed he could, but more importantly, HE believed he could. So far so good!

Its very nice that your A is doing so well... but what about you Amanda? Al-Anon is a program for us, the ones who love (or have been affected by) an alcoholic. Our focus is on ourself, how we are doing, etc. Your whole post was about him. What about you? Are you okay? Are you attending meetings for yourself? Yes, we like to hear when the A is doing well, but mostly we want to hear how YOU are!! Please let us know. Glad you're here (((((((Amanda))))))))
Luv, Kis
