Talking to our sponsor

Have had an situation come up recently NOT related to alcoholism but still involving chinging my attitude and working an honest program.  This is an honest program and we don't use our sponsors as "the good angel" sitting on the right shoulder.  But our sponsors can help us work things out and look at things from a different perspective.   For example, my sponsor  and my grandsponsor (The Great One lol) don't tell me what to do....they ask questions, guide the discussion, and by the end I ghave an idea of what I really knew was right for me in the first place.

I know this might seem a little cryptic.  Sorry bout that.  But if you are confronted with a situation where you're asked to do something and it doesn't feel right, or maybe sets some bells off in your head, there's nothing wrong with going to your sponsor and asking to talk the situation through, even if it doesn't directly involve alcoholism.  We all have distorted thinking because of this disease.

Thanks!

Good work (((txmom))),

Having a sponsor or sponsors is certainly an important part of this program!

Remembering to utilize them when you have one.....well sure!!!!! Sometimes we forget the obvious or dont want to impose. That's what they are there for...someone we can talk to about anything...someone who wont necessarily tell us what to do...but someone to listen and perhaps see something we cant see through the fog in our brains!!!

Thanks for the reminder.

David
