Those things you mention are different events that AA has in MA.  Sober in the Sun is a picnic/campout held I believe each August.  Half Moon I have heard of but do not recall what it is.  I have not been to either of them however, many people I know in AA have and they enjoy them immensely. 


I have however, been to the AA conventions for the past 4 years, was active with the Western MA AA roundup and other local events.  I enjoy working and associating with the members of AA I have met - it has helped to enhance my recovery and see how the other half lives.  For me it helped to take away the anger I had at my husband - also gave me hope that things could get better if I focused on myself.

I have never heard of any of them at all . Al-Anon is identified with only one name
