Jigsaw Puzzles/January Self Mastery!

The weather here has been nice, then yuck.   Have been working jigsaw puzzles (60-100 piece, the Keep It Simple type, so as to not overwhelm myself)  I cannot believe what a sense of self mastery it gives me.  I can RELY on myself, my own intuition, the puzzle has a boundary, common sense at times and then sometimes it's a mystery, and I have to take a guess/chance!  Pretty nice to know that doing something like this makes one feel like YOU CAN TRUST YOURSELF and YES, I STILL HAVE A BRAIN,  I AM NOT DUMB.

[I have bought some cheap ones, but I have checked out a 500 piece from the library to see if I want to go that far.   If I don't, all I have to do is return it ! ]

Also, my hubby, bought me a basic bike.   Just like from the 1960's!   [No special brakes, designer seats, goofy handle bars, or speeds.]   Wide tires, though and a large, stuffed seat that doesn't hurt the butt!   Can I go, and do I feel like an 11 year old kid.   Gets the oxygen pumping through my lungs, FAST.  Who says you cannot be a kid again!  It's hard to find a good bike shop, but this guy said he puts them together himself sometimes for folks--just the way they want them!

I never was turned on too much by fitness programs, walking programs advertised.  I did find one particular walking program offered by a hospital (a diabetic support group).  They gave us proper instructions for warm up, cool downs, a free pedometer to add on an extra 10,000 steps to our day.  The diab. program cost me a one time fee, which my ins. helped pay for part, and I can keep coming back for free programs.

How have you felt self mastery take place in our life?

(we can find happiness and contentment whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not---ummm and my A, well, keeps me guessing, perhaps, but I would go crazy trying to figure that out, so I better ride that bike!)

Oh my, having a turkey myself I am sitting here laughing just visualing trying to fit Gobbles into a basket on a bicycle! LOL  It would have to be a very BIG basket, and it would have to attach to the rear wheel, because I know I'd never be able to see where I was going if he were in front of me!  ROFL  But hey, IF I could talk Gobbles into this (thats a big if, lol) I can just imagine the looks from people in town... not to mention the hometown newspaper headlines "Local woman out exercising with her turkey.."  hahahahahaha  Maybe I should just try to teach him to do puzzles with me instead?  heehee

Anyhoo, back to topic... self mastery... wow, thats a good one!  Kinda like self care and self discipline rolled into one and seeing the results?  Am I on right track with that?  I know for myself, that I have felt a lot better when I decided to start taking care of myself.  Easy example would be deciding to indulge in a hot bubble bath more often than "once in a blue moon".  That hot water just relaxes me, helps to ease tense muscles, and I smell "purty" when I'm done!!  Another example was when I decided to take courses in real estate and get my real estate agent license.  Lots of doubts there about being able to remember everything I needed to remember for the State exam, but I kept at it and went into the exam with the thought of "if by chance I don't pass this time, no big deal, I CAN retry it again."  Also took with me the knowledge that my MIP family and HP were there with me in spirit, and if this is what HP wanted for me at that time, then it would work out.  And it did!!  Hmmm, having just wrote that now I need to ask myself what is keeping me from following thru and finishing up the other couple of classes I need to turn my "conditional license" into a full-fleged license.  Believe I need to start working some more on that self mastery topic.

Thanks for the topic!  Luv, Kis

Yes, my daughters each bought a USED elyptical trainer, works on everything from the waist down!  I can use them anytime I want.   There's no place for a cat or turkey, not sure even for a basket.
