thanks for the warm welcome to those of you that reply. unfortunatly i'm not sure if i can participate in a local alanon program. i have epilepsy (& do not drive). i have a hard enough time trying to have people take me to the store, my kids to school, and so on. so i think i'll start here, and maybe try to "venture" out eventually.
I can imagine it must be hard getting around since you don't drive. Many times members of f2f Al Anon meetings would be happy to pick you up. Just a thought to consider for the future :)

It is nice meeting you here :) I too suffer from health problems that keep me in the house alot. I have fibroymyalgia, a chronic pain disease which comes with chronic fatigue too. Getting out of the house is very difficult for me so I have found this site to be my home group and it has helped me so much over the past year and a half or so since I have been here. I actully have learned more here than from the many face to face groups I have gone to. WE get out of the program what we put into it and that can be either online or in person or like I do, balance both when I am physically up to it. This group actually gave me a connection to the world again since I was sleeping most of my life away and then found a reason to get out of bed and get to the meetings and chats here for my own health and focus. I do hope you do what is in your best interest too and put your time into working your own program to be able to have a healthier and happier life too. Once again, welcome. cdb oxoxoxox ((((((((supportive hugs)))))
