I just want you guys to know I am working on getting that new chat server set up so that these problems (the blacklisting etc) will go away. There is hope... and it is not too far off.
For now all I can tell you is if you go to that mipchat.net URL (or the one on the MIP site) and hit reload when it refuses to go in, it will keep trying, and should eventually get in. With the exception of the other night when they had the network outage, I've been able to get on every time.
Of course staying on is sometimes a challenge. But that's another thing that should be fixed when the new server is set up.
I got in this am, through jmr's site. Going to try again in a few minutes - it has become my daily challenge - if I get refused, I try another method! I know you are working on it, and am grateful for all your help.
I made quite a bit of progress on the server situation last night, and things are further along than I expected. Tonight I will put a couple new hard drives in it and reinstall it, then it's back into the hosting place with it. (Probably tomorrow night.) Then some testing with the help of the ops to make sure that it will do what we need it to do.
I will put an end to this blacklisting nonsense for good, very soon. :)
