I can no longer get into the chat room!! All I get is a white window then it
freezes my computer.

I have Java and as you know, been in the room for years.

I read the responses to your post and several others cannot get in or stay in now too.

Debilyn: I got tired of going to java and getting nowhere. So I downloaded mirc from www.mirc.com.  Then go to the webchat server.. on the irc...which is on the server channels then type in channels alanon chat and low and behold its there.  You can go to the meetings page and use the notes there on mirc as a crib sheet.  It isn't that complicated and its a lot easier than boot/reboot all night long and get nowhere.
