I suppose it serves me right, was feeling rather pleased with self - had no probs with Java - till tonight!

When I had tried several times, to no avail, I decided to download mIRC - and, eventually, that is where I am at - I have downloaded and installed, now, I have no idea what to do with it! When I try to come in, Java pops its head up again, dont want to uninstall Java, may be left with nothing.

Any computer buffs out there able to offer advice?

I had to restart my computer to get in with java tonight. Did you try that?  Worked for me.

YAY! I tried that mirc thing and lost the plot!!!! didnt work for me.
