information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
This was a topic @ a meeting earlier this week. It was said that this message board was a good place to go to find a sponsor. I have a sponsor @ my f2f meetings, she is great, but I feel I need someone more similar to me. Her A is deceased. Mine is still alive. Living with an active alcoholic in denial when trying to recover can be difficult as many of you know. I was hoping to find someone else in similar circumstances.
I never thought of having an online sponsor before that meeting. I am not able to get to many f2f meetings due to work & living in small rural area. Perhaps this could work for me.
My suggestion would be to read through the posts and see who you feel you relate to. Who's program and recovery you admire. Who's circumstances are similiar to your own in that's the type of sponsor you're looking for.
Then just send them a private message or email them and ask them if they are able to sponsor you. If for whatever reasons they aren't, then just continue on in your search and ask the next best person.
