I want to wish each and everyone of you a Happy Thanksgiving. It is so hard for many of us to remember that we have in spite of this disease much to be thankful for. Here are a few things that I thought of this morning and wanted to share. Feel free to add to this list - for some of us need to be reminded.
1. I have a Higher Power that loves me unconditionally - despite my mistakes I have made in the past or will make in the future. My HP does not hold it against me.
2. I have a program that is teaching me everyday how to live a serene life.
3. I have program friends who share with me their ES &H so that I may learn. I know that when I am in trouble I can call any of them for help - and they are always there to do so.
4. I have this message board and a chat room to come to when I need to.
5. I have choices. I can choose to live in chaos or live serenely. I can if need to choose to restart my day. I can choose to turn my problems over to my HP. I can choose to laugh, love, and live whether the A's in my life are active or not.
6. I have family who loves and supports me. I also have my alanon family.
7. I have a stable job, and a home, almost debt free. I have these things because I allowed program to work in my life. I turned my will and the A's in my life over to my HP and got busy on me.
8. My children hopefully will learn as I break the cycle of this disease.
9. I am worthy of being loved by others - and most of all being loving myself.
I know that for many living in this disease has robbed them of everything. I hope, however, for all of you, you can find one thing in your life to be thankful for.
Love & Gratitude to you all,
Karen
