Wow! Ya know I thought I had a pretty decent handle on how to work my program. If you had asked me how I do that with an active A, I could tell you all kinds of stuff. Now I have been told that when they get into recovery, we just continue to do the same as we would if they were active. Okay, that sounded pretty simple to me. No problem I thought. Ha!!! Since just yesterday when my A called his job and said "I have a drinking problem, I need help", I have found myself wanting to direct and control HIS recovery. Egads! Not my business, not my business, not my business. I gotta repeat that over and over so I can burn it into my brain and keep my hands off! This is hard!! I had no idea how hard it would be!! I want to spout slogans at him, explain how they work, almost like how I would to a sponsee when they come to me with a problem. Encourage and support the A - yes, but NOT sponsor him!! (Somebody slap me with a trout till I get that thru my head, ok?)
So here I am again feeling like I'm starting over in a way. That's ok. Growth is good. Just feel kinda lost at sea again. I know - focus on me, keep working my program. Stay out of his business. Please keep reminding me of that, okay? Thank HP for all of you!!
Luv, Kis

So glad to hear that your hubby has admitted to the world his problem, I see that as a sign of hope for you and your family!! You can handle the rest, you'll find the right words and the right times.

(((kis))) i like this program because it is here for me every day, no matter what comes before me. it's like a continual review. but it's such a relief to know it works with everything if I work it. you know what to do, it's just a new angle. HP will show you the way to go - he knows all the angles :P - Hope
My sponsor used to tell me that my A has not hit sobriety yet cause I haven't got a good enough grasp on MY program yet....I am gonna hold her to that!!
I am jealous that you husband has hit this spot, and fearful that you will forget what Alanon has taught us up to this point. Hang on, lead the way for me!!
David62 carefully removes his newly aquired ValleyTrout (purchased in small shop right outside Yosemite) and presses button til it says "Oh My God!"
Great news about hubby Kis!
Da Magic of Yosemite at work?
I can just imagine how difficult it would be to keep to my side of the street in your shoes! Any time you feel a jaywalk coming on run to phone or room for a good trout whacking!
And we ain't talkin' veggies here!!! Sure brings a whole new perspective to your life...not sure I would know how to handle that. Great job kismet, SenoraBob
