opportunity for growth

I keep hearing wtvr we lack w/in ourselves, is what we attract in another, as an opportunity for growth.

What I have learned from attracting addicts/alcoholics is that I need to learn to put myself first & love myself.

Boy is that true! I attract very angry men. It's because I don't express my anger or discontent. This is because I have a fear of rejection, which I am breaking through. I was taught to be sweet, subservient,  and not to ever show my anger or I could have been killed by the A. Now I say what I want/need without feeling uncomfortable(most of the time LOL).

Thanks Kitty for sharing that!

I was thinking today .... and I've thought of this before.

I hate saying no.  And I give and give and give until I can't give any more.  And then I'm asked for more.  And instead of saying "no", I have this holier than anything martyr complex, that I gave it all and I don't have any more to give and how in hell can you possible ask one more thing from me.

Ya know.....one syllabus would have been much easier.

Maybe that is why the we are attracted to emotional vampires.  Because our programming teaches us to give all that emotional energy.
