My mother went on a drinking binge and told my father she wanted to go back home to Boston. He of course listened to her, when she was drunk and got her a plane ticket. He alerted her family, they changed their plans and their lives and then she changed her mind at the last minute. And why not, she made her decision at the last minute and everybody came to her aid and pitied her except for me. I knew it was a ploy for attention and I didn't give in. I had to work and I wasn't about to get into trouble for leaving work early because she made a decision when she was drunk. She told me she changed her mind because of my nephew my father and her are raining (due to his mother and father's drug use).That hurt me a bit, but I am not going to dwell on the fact that I am not her inspiration. She also wants to stay at my place this weekend and I told her she could if she didn't drink, she said she would never come over here again.I told her one alcoholic is all I can deal with at a time. I mean, my boyfriend is still here and drinking. I can't handle the two of them doing it...GRRRRR!!! I will try to focus on myself and my job and do something nice with my friends this weekend. Maybe I will buy a Christmas tree for my apartment, since I have never decorated MY OWN place before...

That was great you were so strong with your boundary to your Mum. Just remember if she doesn't come over again it was her choice not yours. She can still visit you when she is sober. Luv Leo x
Good for you for sticking to your boundaries. One A is enough you're absolutely right! You should decorate for Christmas, it can be such a happy time of year if you make it. Enjoy!
