SERENITY

All,

Over the last few days, I've been exploring the meaning of serenity in my own life by asking myself: What does serenity mean to me? What does it look like? What does it feel like?

I've been reading all of the selections on serenity in Courage to Change and Hope for Today and just allowing the question to float as I move through my day.  I think serenity, to me, boils down to the principles of the twelve steps put this way:

To be in right relationship to God (by responding to the still small voice within)

To be in right relationship with myself (to respect, care and nurture myself by taking care of my spirit, my mind and my body).

To be in right relationship with other people (by detaching with love when necessary and treating all people with gentleness, respect, and care; by making amends when I've wronged someone).

These principles offer me a guide in every moment, and with the help of my HP, of how to really, truly take care of myself.

I totally agree! The path to serenity is different for each of us, but the end result is the same.

For me, acceptance and serenity are hand in hand. Once i have acceptance, I have reached serenity.

Take care, and thanks for your post!

Aron
