Alot on my mind

As I was reading Aron's post I felt a warm feeling that she got to say her goodbyes.  My Sister and I were talking about our uncle that passed away last week and got to thinking that it is too bad that he decuided not to have a funeral.  In his last year of life he was very sick from the lung cancer but he managed to make it meaningfull to us who loved him.  Last August when I got married he came to the wedding even though he was so sick and that meant alot.  I feel weird that there is no funeral to attend and that I did not go to see him.  The reason being that he didn't want children arround while he was ill which is understandable...  What I can hang on to is the fact that I was there for him and my aunt while he went through his radiation treatment, gave my aunt time away from the hospital and the kind words he said to me after he went home.  He is a ruff and tuff Cowboy that isn't to sentimental and when he thanked me for being there and telling my mom and dad that it ment alot to him. I am touched!!!  still today by his words.

My dad is going up to his and my aunts place tomorrow to wein off all the calves and I think it is his way of saying his good bye.  I will be helpping my sister move so I won't be able to help them out.  I guess this is kind of my good bye as I haven't really talked about it with anyone...

Like I said it is imoprtant to have closure it doesn't really matter how a person gets it.  I will think of all the positive things and the funny things and the confidance that I know that the suffering is over for him.

Thanks Aron for posting it gave me incentive to post my feelings.

JJ

Hello jj,

I am so sorry for the loss of your uncle. I believe after people pass on they watch over us and can still here us. But, not all the time of course :) Our memories sustain us with the good thoughts we have had with them. Again, My heart goes out to you with the loss or your loved one. cdb

Hey JJ  ((((JJ))) <--Hug for you

Sorry about the loss of your uncle.  You are lucky to have been able to spend so much meaningful time with him, and have those warm thoughts and memories to help you through.  I wish so much that I could live closer to my mom to spend what little time she has left with her, 2 and 3 day visits once or twice a year just don't seem to be enough somehow.

Take care my friend.
