My name is Jamie and I'm a grateful Al-Anon member. Am living in Dharam Shala India where I'm a lone Al-Anon member.

Hi Tokyo and India Al-Anon and 'mens one day at a time' Al-Anon members,

I'm a very occasional contributor to 'mens one day at a time', an ex member of Tokyo Al-Anon, who is now a lone Al-Anon member in Dharam Shala, HP, India. (I'm from the UK originally).

I'm using Skype to communicate with friends and family through the internet. I just got broadband internet here in my appartment in Dharam Shala and so now my Skype usage is really going to take off

For those who don't know Skype http://skype.com is a free application that allows you to make phone calls across the internet. Calls are free from computer to computer. Skype works well and gives great sound quality across even slow internet connections. You can download it for free from here : http://skype.com/download/ You should even be able to use Skype over a normal phone line internet connection. If you use a normal phone line let me know though.

On Skype you can set up conference calls of upto 5 people at a time. I'm hoping that we can have some international Al-Anon Skype meetings! So I've sent this email to you all to see who would be interested. I propose that we try to have a meeting this Sunday at :

Tokyo Sun 11:00 AM
Denver *Sat 8:00 PM
Los Angeles *Sat 7:00 PM
New York *Sat 10:00 PM

I think meetings of this kind could help a lot of people. As I said I'm a lone Al-Anon member in Dharam Shala, HP, India and I need some Al-Anon meetings. I'm already web master for Al-Anon India and set up web sites for Al-Anon Tokyo and other 12 step programs. I'd be willing to help coordinate Skype meetings with a web page etc.
