a sign from god?

during the meeting today my a smoked some weed. when meeting was over (alanon online meeting) my a had a panic attack , he thought he was having a heart attack so i called 911. it is odd because he is only 22 but he did cocaine on friday so i thought it might be a possibility. anyways right before this occured i prayed to god to help my a to see he needed help and could not become sober on his own. so we went to er and after tons of test (my a was honest about what he did) abnormal heart rhythems showed up. he told me it opened his eyes and will try going to a meeting again. could this be a sign from god. was this gods way of telling him to get help. my a is fine. turned out to be a conditon- wolff parkinson white syndrome. i hope he is still motivated to get the help he needs. the condition is not serious but it was a huge scare. i realized i really do love him and dont want to lose him. thank you for listening.

God doesn't create illness or sickness, but He does help guide us and turns good into bad so it is quite possible that God used that condition to allow your husband to see how serious his addiction was affecting his life.

Illness and sickness comes from this world we live in, the influence of our environment and our bodies that are not made to live forever. God preserves our soul and wants our spirituality to be clean. Although, God indicates that our bodies are our temple and we should treat them as such, our bodies are still only temporary and subject to all the defects of any other material thing.

Sometimes, we are born with genetic defects and other times, through not taking care of ourselves, we subject our bodies to defects. Either way, God wants us all who are weary to come to Him.

Take Care!

I do not believe in coincidents. I truely believe everything happens for a reason and a purpose. I believe your HP decided to answer your prayer right away. I love it when that happens.

Glad to hear your A is okay and hopefully he can stay true to his word and try meetings again.

This reminds me of a story I heard.

A man is caught in the middle of a flood and winds up on his roof. The waters keep rising and the man starts praying. He hears back from God that God will save him. A little while later, a man comes wading through the water and says 'I know a way to high ground, would you like to come with me?' The man replys 'No thanks, God is going to take care of me.'  About an hour later the water is still rising and man on a makeshift raft of driftwood floats by and asks the man if he needs any help. He says back, 'No thanks, God is going to take care of me.' About an hour after that a rescue boat comes by, the boat is full and the people on board say 'theres no room inside, but if you hang on the outside you can come with us" The man says back 'No thanks, God is going to take care of me.' An hour later the man is swept away and drowns.

When he meets God he is angry and says, 'I thought you were going to save me?' God says back, 'I tried to. I sent you an angel wading through the water, an angel on the driftwood, and another angel was in the boat, you chose not to acccept the help I sent.'

The help and guidence from God is always there. Sometimes just because it's not the way we want it, our expectations can make us blind to it.
