New to All This, But Yet Feel At Home!

Hi all.  I'm writing my 1st post.  Have been to a few internet meetings, which are very helpful.  I would just ask for your prayers and support in my situation.  I see myself in so many of you.  My A of 17 years is packing as I type.  We have finally decided to separate after all these years.  He has signed a year's lease on a house.  We have 2 daughters, 17 & 11.  This is going to be rough on all of us, but I guess we have went as far as we can go like this.

It's really weird that this morning at church we had a guest speaker who was talking about having an "unteachable spirit".   As he was talking about someone who has a personality of me, me, me... and thinking that every one around them has problems (except themself) and I guess the really big one...  not being able to humble themself before God and ask for His help.

So my prayers are that after my husband moves out, he will be humbled and moved toward God to ask for His will in his life.  For His will to be done in this family.  I'm hoping that with enough prayer and HUMBLING on the part of my husband, he will have his eyes opened enough to WANT to get help for himself.  For him to be able to take responsibility for his OWN actions.

I've come to the realization that I can't change him, and I have to work on me now.  I recently went to the doctor & my blood pressure is all jacked up, my pulse was racing... etc.  I do know that my health is so important (I'm also a breast cancer survivor!), and for me to be healthy to raise my daughters.

I start counseling on Tuesday, actually sort of looking forward to it, but yet at the same time scared.   Just to know you're all there is very helpful.

Please pray for us!

Hi Ratchie

Welcome to miracles in progress and alanon.

I am glad that you found us.

I am not new, I am in since last July.

I am in a similar situation though.

I left my hussband of 14 years in May. It is tough

and lonely

and hard

and BETTER. I am finally living the life my HP whom I call God has meant for me.

Each day I pray that my husband will find recovery.

I live in the reality that he may not.

Keep coming back, things will get better

In recovery

megan
