Recovery

Hi Everyone

I havnīt posted for a long time but i thought it would be good to post something good.

My recovering A has been clean now for 1 year, not one drop of alcohol has passed his lips. I am so proud of him and of myself for getting through this last year.

It hasnīt been easy, living with him whilst heīs been questioning everything about the programme, the highs and lows. I worked the steps early in his recovery and it helped me so much, i realised that by just living moment by moment and not letting old fears creep in, i managed to remove lots of negative thoughts and stopped projecting.

Itīs been a rocky road and the relationship was tested to itīs utmost limits, especially when i discovered that he was having a afffair with someone in the fellowship! But we got through it, now weīre stronger than ever.

So, all of you out there, there is light. Of course i realise that he could pick up a drink tomorrow but today is good and iīm living in the now.

Love to you all.

Happy Anniversary to you and your A. With any situation if we come out of it stronger, then something was accomplished.

Kiki,

Happy anniversary!

I can't wait for the day when my A and I are able to celebrate that day. We will I firmly believe that as does he. (But with our eyes wide open.) Right now we celebrate 30 days. That's just as important.

They always say that the first year is the toughest. Boy are they right. But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. What a learning experience it has been, for both.

You're right. There is always hope. I too faced the infidelity issue when he relapsed. But it's in the past, and we're going foward. Love is a strong and powerful bond. Just when you think that it can't possibly be working, it surprises you.

So here's to all of us and our A who celebrate milestone large and small. I raise a coffee cup to you all. May we all have many more to celebrate.

Live strong,
Karilynn
