Thanks from the newbie!

To everyone who replied to my first posting:
From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU!
The first weekend we had together went great! He stayed completely sober, and for the first time I wasn't afraid to come home. Piper (the cat) was estatic that Dad was home. Despite the craziness of the weekend at work (I work retail with back to school in full mode), it felt so good to come home. I said the Serenty prayer the first night at work and rubbed my worry stone. But I made it through. Work was actually fun (if you can have fun by selling 200 pairs of shoes in a night?). I even resisted the temptation to call in to check on him.
We spent a great deal of time talking, even laughing at some of the things he use to do while he was drinking. We managed to get the kinks worked out at the half way house, and that has been major for him. As he's been saying: Take no prisoners with sobriety. His case manager called Sunday to see how everything was going, and offered to let him stay through today, providing he had his medication with him. I being the anal retentive one, always has an extra day or two on hand in case something goes wrong. So that wasn't an issue. It's been the best weekend I've had with him in a year. Now he's back at the house and Piper and I are back to being bachelor girls.
Thanks to all again who calmed my fears. I feel a lot more at home here.

Live strong,
Karilynn

P.S. If any of you have advice on how to handle a 14 year old niece when she asks you questions about boys, I'm up for feedback. Auntie here is not as hip and cool as she use to be!
