I want to thank all the people who have responded to my last board about becoming independent. It really helped to read those responses, as it usually does. Right now my "A" is having a poker game with his friends in the dining room, and thats fine with me, as long as they all know that if it continues past midnight they all (including my "A" ) have to leave. As most of you know, I am pregnant, and I have to have my sleep. My "A" and I agreed that midnight is comfortable for both of us. I guess tonight will be the test to see if he respects that agreement. I told him that he will probably get drunk and then start thinking "I'm the man of the house, I dont have to leave or stop having fun." He promised he wouldnt but hahaha, we all know how that goes. I have heard him tell his friends twice now tonight to remember that they have to leave at midnight so we'll see. I have had such great moments since I found Alanon, but everytime I have a set back, it takes me so long to get back into the groove of things. I have been having such a hard time seeing the bright side of things lately. And when I watch the news, I see horrible things there, with Katrina and all. And it just seems like the whole world is falling apart. I just finished packing up 4 boxes of clothes and blankets and a twin size blow up mattress and diapers and formula to be sent to New Orleans. I hope it gets there. Anyways, thanks again for listening.
Remember progress, not perfection; we all have slips. We are human, and not perfect. Now you are able to recognize your slips, and know how to regain sanity.
