HI I am New

Hi my name is Robyn. I am 29 years old. I have 2 kids 11 and 7 well he will be 7 in 2 weeks. I am married to a grate man when he's not drunk he is my A. My dad was my A to but I lost him when I was 4 years old. I am so glad I found this. I can't go to f2f meetings right now it's hard but I am trying to do the online meetings. My A husband thank Alanon is brain washing me so he don't want me to go but I think I have come up with a plan thanks to some of the people in the meeting room. I just want to thank everyone in there they made me feel so welcome. I Know I will go to a f2f meeting. Just pray that It will be soon. Thanks I just wanted to share a little bit.

                                                                                                                       THANKS,

                                                                                                                        ROBYN

Robyn,

Good for you! We can all learn from Alanon even our A's. He might notice a difference in you from attending meetings. Sometimes we become sicker then they are and very hard to live with. It helps our children too.

In support,

Nancy

Its really not a lie  hehe.  or simply tell  him that his drinking is causing YOU  a problem and thats why your going.    If he is like a friend of mines husb  he said  see i told u , u were the one with the problem . hehe  luckily she smiled and said  your right ! and he never bugged her again .   so ya never know .   good luck  Louise

Hello,

I have not met you in the chat, and I don't know what your plan is, but you are in my prayers.

Much Love,

Mandy

Robyn,  Hugs

Welcome, glad that you found MIP.

It took me about 4 months to get to a f2f meeting, this place and chat have been great for me but f2f did really make a huge difference!!  You'll get to meetings when the time is right.

keep comming back!!

Welcome Robyn,

I've been and still am in your shoes.  My A hubby doesn't believe in support groups, counselors, or anything of the like, and gave a hard time about going to meetings, so I stopped.  I may not be able to get to f2f meetings, but this chatroom/message board is working wonders for me.  I don't think it matters how we get our information and support, as long as we get it.  See you in chat!

Welcome.. I would have to agree .. My husband would totally FREAK if he found out that I went to a f2f or that I was on this board. He doesnt agree with counseling or meetings either. I will tell him when I AM READY.. Not until.. This board and the online meetings have really helped me too.

I would agree, read listen and dont be afraid to share.. There is a wealth of knowledge and plenty of support and understanding here.

I havent been here long either but I am really trying to work on ME>.. I have made progress however, I is a long road.. Just glad to know that I am not alone on this journey. For so long I thought I was, none of my friends and family could understand living with an alcoholic.

You are not alone either.. WElcome and feel free to write ..

Tammy
