I have been talking to a lot of my friends in recovery and we were talking about how sometimes we second guess our HP working in our lives..."Is it really my HP's hands that I'm seeing or is it just coincidence?"
::raises hand:: That happens to me often. Something will come up and I will get this thought that crosses my mind wondering HP or not.
This week when I talked w/my sponsor I was talking to her of things going on here and she mentioned something to me about how my HP is really working in my life. A week ago I begged on my knees for guidance. I literally didn't know what I was to do. My sponsor pointed out every event, every person that I have told her about this past week and said, lol, "does your HP need to capitalize it on the letter that He placed in your hands?"
She was right. When I take a step back and look at the overall picture I see it. When I am right in the midst of an emotional rollercoaster the only thing I see sometimes is how tight I am buckled in.
You hit it right of the head. I never see my HP working untill I look back. I'm working on this myself. Good luck this afternoon I'm thinking about you. I'm sending my HP over to look out for you this weekend. Just incase you can't seem to see yours working.
thank you nikkilou! This morning I woke up strong and empowered. I kept saying "I deserve this" (meaning I deserve sobriety in my life). Not only has my HP put people f2f in my life, he provided me w/this db and people who have offered such wonderful support, encouragement and understanding. This was NO coincidence!
A man woke up in the middle of the night, to see that the river had risen, and his house was in danger of being swept away in the flood. He cried out to God, "Please God, save me" Soon after, some men in a rowboat appeared, offering to take him to shore "No thanks", he said, "God will save me" The river continued rising, so he cried out again "God, I have always prayed to you and had faith, please save me" Minutes later, a helicopter appeared, and they sent a rope down for him. "No thanks", he said. "God will send me a miracle, I have faith" The river continued rising and the man was swept away and drowned. When he got to heaven he was indignant. "God", he said, "I have always been your faithful servant. How could you have let me down so?" God replied "I sent you a rowboat and a helicopter, what more did you want?"
We need to learn to see the answer that is there, rather than the one we are looking for.
Wow the blessing God has given you to see. Most people won't even see whats in front of them there whole life. Sometimes closing your eye's and opening your hear you can see clearly.Many Blessing to you !!!
FIRST OFF-SEEING AS YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE GUIDED BY GOD OR YOUR HP-THAN YES IT'S ALWAYS YOUR GOD EVEN WHEN IT'S CALLED A COINCIDENCE IT'S STILL GOD'S INTERVENTION
IT WAS REALLY COOL TO READ THE POSTING FROM "LIN0606" THAT SAME STORY CAME TO MIND THE OTHER DAY WHEN SOME FOLKS WERE POSTING HOW TO LET YOUR PROBLEMS GO TO YOUR HP AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU---TOO MANY TIMES WE ARE SO PRE-OCCUPIED WITH OUR PROBLEMS THAT WE MISS THE SIGNS THAT ARE LAID OUT IN FRONT OF US. IF WE THINK GOD IS GOING TO SPEAK TO US IN THE FORM OF A BURNING BUSH-IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN (UNLESS OF COURSE YOUR NAME IS MOSES)
SIGNS SIGNS EVERYWHERE A SIGN-THE SECRET OF SUCCESS LIES IN SEEING AND LISTENING TO THE MESSAGES THAT ARE GIVEN CONSTANTLY. GOD GAVE US THE POWER OF REASON SO THAT WHEN WE COME TO OBSTACLES IN OUR PATH WE MAKE DECISIONS THAT WE HOPE WILL KEEP US STRAIGHT-IF WE MAKE A MISTAKE-SO BE IT-IT'S EASY TO FORGIVE YOURSELF, BUT IF THE SAME SITUATION ARISES AGAIN WE SHOULD STOP AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE TAP ON OUR SHOULDER AND ALTER OUR DECISION SO AS NOT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE THAT TAP IS YOUR GOD TALKING--ANOTHER TAP ON THE SHOULDER MIGHT BE WHEN A TEENAGE DAUGHTER WHO OBVIOUSLY IS VERY INTELLIGENT HAS THE STRENGTH TO ADMIT THAT THINGS ARE EFFECTING HER.
WE ONLY GO AROUND ONCE-LET'S ENJOY THE RIDE...
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SITUATION-SO MANY OF THESE FOLKS HERE IN AL-ANON CAN AND WILL LEND SUPPORT TO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GIVE YOU CONFIDENCE AND PEACE OF MIND---I'M SURE YOU'VE ALREADY READ ENOUGH POSTINGS TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE-YOUR SITUATION IS NOT UNIQUE-SO MANY OF THESE FOLKS HAVE "BEEN THERE DONE THAT"
WATCH FOR THE SIGNS AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE TAPS ON THE SHOULDER
with my trust issues, i 2nd guess EVERYTHING, but now working the steps 1,2,3, i am learning that just because i don't "see-feel" hp, i decided to just have "blind trust" that the process is working and sometimes just stopping--breathing--being still, i can get a perspective.....hope this made sense...rosie
