I got the job!

Just heard this afternoon that I got the job I had applied for.  It is a temporary position in customer service for an excellent company with fabulous benefits.  It will last 10 weeks but after that they tell me my chances are very good to be hired permanently.  This is just a way to get my foot in the door.  Doesn't pay too much, but it's a start.

My alcoholic husband and I have been running our own business for about 6 years.  Now he will be running the business on his own.  I called him today to tell him I got the job and he was very quiet. Also, this morning his sponsor who has been meeting with him twice a week for over a year now, told him he wouldn't meet with him any more until he was serious about recovery.  I'm not sure if my husband was relieved or angry with himself...probably both.  Now with the news that I got this job, I think he's feeling like his world is rocking and tilting out of his favor.  This morning before I had heard about getting this job, I told him he needed to move out of the house to do right by me and our two children (13 & 17).  He listened quietly (for once) and said we "would talk" this weekend.  I know he will make promises that he cannot or will not keep to get me to back off on his moving out.  I'm actually not sure if I will continue to insist he move out or back off to see if he will make good on his promises.

Thank you all for listening.

Yeah, for you!!!!!! A job!  Isn't it amazing how good we feel when we do things for outselves?  You should be so proud of yourself.  I am sure your A is wondering about his world.....funny how they stand up and pay attention, even if it's temporary, when we take care of ourselves.

Congrats Mary! On your new job!!! I wish you all the best! I'm looking forward to finding another job myself when I'm not driving the bus. I can't stand sitting at home day after day waiting for the phone to ring that they need me. I need something to keep me gone all day so that I'm not constantly boiling mad every beer can I have to listen to go "POP"! But then after a long day at work, I go over the deep end when I come home and he's plastered! Will it ever get better? Take care of yourself!! And GOOD LUCK!!

Congrats on the job! May it lead you down the path that you want it to. It sounds like it will really be good for you. And maybe it will be good for your "A" as well.

Don't forget to take time to do something for yourself!

Much Love,
