forgive me room!

I spent the entire day w/ my mom & we made it to our first f2f (yaay for us!)

As I was driving home just now, I realized I made some comments at last night's chat mtg & I want to humbly apologize to everyone.  I have no right to say anything to anyone in here (or anywhere else for that matter).  I obviously have some sick need to be right or validated & I am just sick of myself!  We are sharing in meetings & no one wants to hear any comments or "help" from anyone else.  I just have to catch myself, knock myself down & humble myself before you all.

I appreciate that I did share last night, thanks for listening.

I am still just trying to get over resenting myself for having this 19 year "slip" & being so pathetic at my own recovery, I really need to staple my mouth shut!  I'm going to try not to be ashamed or pitiful or beat myself up over it, simply move on from here.

I don't want to be right, I want to be healthy.

thank you all

Thanks ((((kitty))))

I dunno what you're referring to that was said in meeting, but it's a good reminder anyway for all of us what meetings are for.  To share our own experience, strength and hope (ESH) on whatever the topic of the evening is.

When we are in open chat is the time for talking and reasoning things out with one another and listening to different perspectives.

I just love what you said at the end there... "I don't want to be right, I want to be healthy."  Me too!!  Thanks!!

Luv, Kis

Dear Kitty,

I strongly agree with Kis & Abbyal !!!  We are not perfect & all make mistakes.  The nice thing about mistake is that it is a chance to learn from them & the experiance.  Thats why God gave us choices.

Be kind to yourself Kitty & Keep Coming Back.

God Bless

Yours in Recovery

I wasn't in the room but know from my own experience that I have learned a good way of expressing feelings by doing the following when someone may have offended us.....I use "I" statements.  It helps me not second guess what I am trying to express.  I also try to take my negative self talk and turn it into a positive, otherwise I am beating myself up all the time.

1.  I feel/felt (whatever emotion)

2.  When you (whatever the person did)

3.  Because (the reason you felt the way you did, this is always a hard one for me but with practice it get's easier)

4.  I would rather you (and whatever you would perfer them to do)

Example:  (I used with my A, but have used other statements at work and with friends) I feel hurt when you talk down to me about my decisions because it makes me feel like I am less of a person and not smart, I'd rather that you would support the decisions I make and not make belittling comments about my choices.

Hang in there, Hugs Mary
