It is hard to have a parent how has a problem with alcohol.

Hi Princess,


Yes it is tough to have a parent who is an alcoholic.


I tell my daughter to try and remember that underneath the addiction that her Dad still loves her...although it is tough for her sometimes to remember.


Being a parent is a tough job, even tougher if you have addiction problems.


Try to remember that your parent is sick, and never give up hope that they will get well.

I hope you can get to meetings in your area. One book you may like is "From Survival to Recovery" - you can get it from here, from an alanon group, from amazon or ebay, or from the library.
