I have to share with you all the messed up perspective that my A exhibited last night and you will all understand and maybe get a chuckle. He wanted to use the phone. So in that ever so polite way, I'm sure some of you will understand the abusive nature of the demon, says, Bleepity, bleep, get off the bleepity bleep phone. Repeatedly... Finally I said "do you need to talk to me that way, it isn't helping your cause". He then looks puzzled and says "oh" " will you get off the bleepity bleep phone, please". Funny, if it wasn't so pathetic. He truly thought that was the problem and not the disrespectful foul mouth. However, I almost burst out laughing at his complete astonishment that he had not responded appropriately to my request. and, oh yeah, he did eventually get to use the bleepity bleep phone. Good to laugh sometimes, if only within this group.
There have been times that I too have wanted to burst out laughing just because of how ridiculous something sounds and I must admit that as much as I've tried to control it, I actually did it. What I realized when it did happen though is complete relief for me, yet an out of control person on the other side because they didn't get to me. :) The more my responses are calm, despite how someone might be attacking me personally or just plain obnoxious and irrate-- the more they have to look at themselves with their reaction because they're the only one reacting. haha
