New to Al-anon

My husband was clean for 6 years and the last 2 years he has been drinking again.  I have never been to an al-anon meeting before.  While he was clean he kept telling me I should go and I denied that I needed it and now with everything going on I want to know more.  We have two children ages 4 and 2.  I feel hopeless and the drinking is getting worse.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?  I am tired of crying my eyes out and hearing him try to blame me.

Hi and welcome

Alanon is the place for you to find recovery.

Alanon helps us to cope with the insanity of living with an alcoholic.

Insanity. That was one of the first things that I learned at my face to face meeting. Living with an alcoholic is living with insanity. Too true and it made ME crazy.

Please join us in the chat room at 9am and 9pm for online meetings

Also thier is a link on this page for "real" - face to face alanon meetings

Keep coming back

Your tears will lessen

I promise

hi

i also just wanted to let you know that there are face to face meetings that provide babysitting in my area.  This is the only way I can get to a f2f b/c I don't have anyone to take care of them.  Maybe they offer those services in your area if you need them?  It really helps me to go to a f2f meeting because if I'm a mess, there are people there to reach out to and they are soooooo understanding and sometimes online it takes a while to get feedback.  Not that it hasn't been a lifesaver But just to let you know.

I hope you try it, it really has helped me more than i ever thought possible

Julie

kcovell1,

You came to the right place. Keep coming back to Alanon. There is hope. This is about the disease of alcoholism and it is powerful. Our f2f meetings have babysitting. Meetings help. Reading the literature helps. Coming here helps. I try to put a limit on my angst or else I just go right down with my recovering A.

In support,

Nancy
